GSFN Show 26: The Gay Chronicles

Fans of the Gay Sci-Fi Nerds Podcast Show are in a treat as Skip and Drew present the show 26, The Gay Chronicles, in what turns out to be their longest show yet. In this fudge packed show Drew shows his softer side with a poem dedicated to MoPod Show’s Peasha titled “An Ode to Peasha – or Five Portions of Peasha a Day”.

Skip plugs Sci-Fi-London: Oktoberfest 2008, which is a sci-fi film festival taking place on 3rd October at the Apollo Cinema West End in London. Skip and Drew will be attending one of the three themed screenings planned for the weekend which include, Anime All-Night, Laugh Until It Hurts and A Night With The Undead. If you’re a sci-fi fan and a Gay Sci-Fi Nerds Podcast Show fan, make sure you find Skip and Drew at the zombie all-nighter, A Night With The Undead screenings.

Skip and Drew talk about all the other films they’ve seen recently (and not so recently), which include Hancock, Kung Fu Panda, The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian, The Forbidden Kingdom and The Happening.

Drew talks helps out a fan with news about Tripods and Skip get narked with 20th Century Fox trying to stop the release of Warner Bros’ Watchmen film. Skip makes a bold statement about Alan Moore relinquishing his rights to bitch when he sold the rights to his graphic novels to big film companies.

Hellboy II: The Golden Army

More in depth movie discussions ensue for Get Smart, Dante 01 and Hellboy II: The Golden Army. Was Get Smart as good as the original series? Did Steve Carrell do a good job as Maxwell Smart? One thing’s for sure, both your hosts had a boner for Anne Hathaway, SCHWING! Dante 01′s psuedo religious contexts and strange ending have Skip and Drew pondering and Guilliermo del Toro’s artistic vision in Hellboy II: The Golden Army splits opinion. Was it too close to Pan’s Labyrinth or has del Toro found a unique style for his fantasy films?
