With ‘hom-rom-com’ Mr Right hitting UK cinemas from November 27th, filmmakers MugShots films have decided to ‘extend the hand of friendship’ to infamous columnist Jan Moir in a tongue in cheek letter run in Out in the City Magazine – on shelves today.
The letter, printed in the free monthly publication, is an invitation to Ms Moir – who famously caused outrage through her comments concerning the tragic death of gay Boyzone star Stephen Gately – to attend the opening night screening of Mr Right at the Prince Charles Cinema in Leicester Square on Friday night.
Dear Jan Moir,
You are cordially invited to an exclusive screening of our new little movie, Mr Right. We can’t promise you a peek beneath the sleazy carapace of glittering, hedonistic celebrity.
But you may find yourself oozing the troublingly everyday nature of the lifestyle depicted.
It is, by any yardstick, a bit ordinary.
Treat yourself, and seep out to the Prince Charles cinema on Friday 27th November.
Your ticket will be leaning provocatively on the front desk, for all to see.
Love,
Mr Right
Louise thought she’d met the man of her dreams. But it all went wrong when she introduced him to her gay friends…
Harry hates being a TV producer and dreams of leaving his job to travel the world. He loves Alex, an aspiring actor who is struggling to create an identity for himself as a performer. Rugby player William’s nine-year old daughter is intent on sabotaging his relationships with new boyfriends, and he’s finding it difficult to let Lawrence, a soap star, into his life. Lars is a handsome sometime model kept by Tom, a successful artist, who will forgive his every betrayal so long as Lars doesn’t leave him. The plot culminates in a showdown at a dinner party.
Mr Right merges Metrosexual and gay style with a backdrop of Hoxton cool as it dares you to find your Mr Right…

Mr Right will be in cinemas on 27th November, 2009 and on DVD 25th January, 2010.
