Man of Steel shows off his biceps and bulge in new costume

Photos of Henry Cavill as Superman in Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel, perfectly showing of his biceps and bulge have appeared on the Internet. SuperHeroHype recently posted the below photos, taken from one of the filming shoots. Click the gallery thumbnails.

There’s been a huge debate over the costume. Some don’t like the added the gaunlets and detailing around the waist. There’s also the omission of the red trunks, which I miss as it draws the eye nicely to… well you get the picture.

So what do you think about the costume?

Man of Steel stars Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Diane Lane, Kevin Costner, Michael Shannon, Antje Traue, Russell Crowe, Julia Ormond, Christopher Meloni, Harry Lennix and Laurence Fishburne. It is scheduled for release 14th July 2013.

First official photo of Henry Cavill as Superman

Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures have issued a press release and the first official image from Zack Snyder’s The Man of Steel. The photo features the gorgeous man hunk Henry Cavill, cast as Clark Kent/Superman in full costume.

Seems quite a few people out there have issues with Superman’s costume, especially the texture which resembles Marvel’s Spider-Man’s suit. Me, I quite the darker tones and I’m hoping it reflects the storyline. Surely its dark with Kryptonian villain General Zod…

Here’s Warner Bros.’s press release:

Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures have provided the first look at the new “Man of Steel,” revealing star Henry Cavill as Superman in the film from director Zack Snyder.

The film also stars three-time Oscar® nominee Amy Adams (“The Fighter”) as Daily Planet journalist Lois Lane, and Oscar® nominee Laurence Fishburne (“What’s Love Got to Do with It”) as her editor-in-chief, Perry White. Starring as Clark Kent’s adoptive parents, Martha and Jonathan Kent, are Oscar® nominee Diane Lane (“Unfaithful”) and Academy Award® winner Kevin Costner (“Dances with Wolves”).

Squaring off against the superhero are two other surviving Kryptonians, the villainous General Zod, played by Oscar® nominee Michael Shannon (“Revolutionary Road”), and Faora, Zod’s evil partner, played by Antje Traue. Also from Superman’s native Krypton are Lara Lor-Van, Superman’s mother, played by Julia Ormond, and Superman’s father, Jor-El, portrayed by Academy Award® winner Russell Crowe (“Gladiator”).

Rounding out the cast are Harry Lennix as U.S. military man General Swanwick, as well as Christopher Meloni as Colonel Hardy.

Goyer, from a story by Goyer and Nolan, based upon Superman characters created by Jerry Siegel & Joe Shuster and published by DC Comics. First trailer for Sucker Punch and character posters

Until the moment I saw the trailer, I wasn’t really keeping an eye on Zack Snyder’s Sucker Punch. Then I saw the trailer and realised that just because it features a bunch of women, this gay sci-fi nerd should have been paying attention to this absolute visual eye candy.

Set in the 1950s, Sucker Punch follows Babydoll (Browning) who is confined to a mental institution by her stepfather, who intends to have her lobotomized in five days. While there, she imagines an alternative reality to hide her from the pain, and in that world, she begins planning her escape, needing to steal five objects to help get her out before she is deflowered by a vile man.

Check out the character posters in the gallery below.

Sucker Punch is set to be released in March 2011 and stars Emily Browning, Abbie Cornish, Vanessa Hudgens, Carla Gugino, Jena Malone, and Jamie Chung.
