Vampires
Vampires are making quite the comeback thanks to the Twilight saga, and while they’re never out of favour with audiences, the fact is True Blood and the Vampire Diaries may never made it onto the smaller screen without Stephanie Meyer’s books. Worth pointing out that the Vampire Diaries by L.J. Smith were out many years before the Twilight novels – I even read them as a teen!
It’s also worth drawing attention to our own home grown supernatural series Being Human, which features a vampire, werewolf and ghost trying to hang on to their humanity. If you haven’t seen the first series, do so. It may be quite morose and depressing, but this tale of three house mates trying to live normal lives is an interesting look into the psyche being human.
